Map Riding

In a perfect world every weekend would be perfect for riding and there would be nothing inhibiting such activities.  Well, so much for make believe.  Welcome to reality.  Not every weekend is right for riding, either because you can't find a riding partner, or because you don't have the cash for gas, or you get sick or the yard needs reclaiming from the jungle.  Whatever!

All is not lost. While I admit, it is not quite the same as a real ride, you can use your off-trail time at home to pull out the maps and plan your next trip or several of them if you wish.

All that is required is a healthy supply of maps and a bit of determination and curiosity.

I feel sorry for the folks who go to the same place all the time.  It is no wonder that they soon grow tired of their sport and their machines end up in the thrifties after being parked on the back lawn for the last three years.  I hope that is never the fate of my machines or me.

I admit that I didn't go riding this last weekend, but I did manage to chart out several new trails that will make some pretty interesting rides when the weather opens them in the spring.

Just for your enjoyment, I've decided to share them with you, even though I have yet to ride in these places.
