Special Oly Riders

We all met at the Gunnison city Park to sign in and put in for door prizes.  I gave my pep talk handed out the door prizes.  We had more  prizes than riders so everyone got something.

After all that fun we went off to Mayfield unloaded the bikes and headed up the trail.  One rider hit a pillar an  the bridge and broke her big toe.  That was our first ouch.

We stopped at the top of Clear Creek for some pictures and a brake, then over to Gunnison Valley.  On  the way over one rider fell off his bike and ate some dirt. He got a little road rash and a broken rib.  He is ok.  Then we went up to Blue lake turn off  and over to  Shingle Mill Hill.  Then over to 12 mil canyon Main road and  down to spring hill, (the beaver ponds).

We had lunch and took a few more pictures at about 2:00pm.  Half of the people decided to go home.  The rest of us took off for a fun ride through Grove of the Giant Aspens.  Following that we went over  to Dinner Creek trail.  Just the name must have made some folks ready for some tucker because that's where more riders had enough and went home.  There were still 12 riders left.  Half of them were ladies.  Then over to the Red Pine trail (the slide),  this trail is one of the harder trails up 12mile canyon.  We all made it safely.  The ride ended at about 6:30pm. The lady that broke her foot at  the first of the ride stayed the whole day and was the last rider to leave.  She is one tough women.

Thank you all for coming and hope we can do it again.
